You Should Travel Solo at Least Once in your Life

I’m gearing up for my latest trip to Japan and it’ll be the very first time I visit the country solo after 4 other trips with different people previously.

Solo travel has always been a remedy for me. I always come away feeling rejuvenated and reenergised but since getting into a long-term relationship, these trips are a lot harder to come by as I prefer sharing the travel experience together with my partner.

But since turning 30, I wanted to do something special for myself. So off to Japan I go for a week long trip, snowboarding in the famous Niseko area of Northern Japan.

It’s been about 5 years since my last solo trip and leading into the day that I fly, I’ve been feeling quite nostalgic and reminiscent on why exactly I enjoy the time to myself overseas, and why these trips are a must for everyone.

Being Completely Yourself

There’s something exciting about being completely by yourself in a setting where no one knows who you are.

And since no one knows who you are, you can be completely yourself (or build into a new version of yourself). Without carrying the burden of your image that you had back home…
